Rosetta Stone Fatal Application Error 2124 


Database is from a newer version of Rosetta Stone. Please update Rosetta Stone or contact support.

When ever you receive the error 2124 Database issue Please update the program to a newer version.

I have been seeing that lot of Rosetta Stone customers are facing this Update issue or loop now and then.

So i have came up with solution for this issue.

In order to resolve this issue we have to download a application and install it on our computer.

How to do a Clean un install of Rosetta Stone Program


If you are using Windows XP


Click on the Start menu = > My Computer = > C Drive = > Documents and Settings = > All Users = >  Application Data

Delete all the folders with the name of Rosetta Stone over there

After deleting the files
Click on the Start menu= > Control Panel = > Add or Remove Programs


Look for the Rosetta Stone Program and right click to Uninstall it.

Now you can re install the program once again as you are installing it for the first time and what ever the issues you have with Rosetta Stone program will be resolves.

If you are using Windows Vista or 7 :


Click on the Start menuclick on the Search bar

Type %programdata% and hit enter in the search bar

You should see bunch of folders and now look for Rosetta Stone folder and Delete all of the folders with the name of Rosetta stone

After deleting the files

Click on the Start menu = > Control Panel = > Click Uninstall a Program located beneath Programs

Look for the Rosetta Stone Program and right click to Uninstall it.

Now you can re install the program once again as you are installing it for the first time and what ever the issues you have with Rosetta Stone program will be resolves.

Click on the Start menuor hit the Windows button on the keyboard which is at the bottom left just beside the Ctrl button.

Now type Computer or ThisPC on the keyboard directly and click on the icon on the screen

Then click on the C drive ( OS : C ) and look for Programdata Folder

If you don't see that that means you have to un hide it

Click on View option on the top of the menu bar

Then see for Options = > Folder options = > Click on View tab = > From the list select Show hidden files and folders and click OK

Now you should see ProgramData folder so opne it.

You should see bunch of folders and now look for Rosetta Stone folder and Delete all of the folders with the name of Rosetta stone

After deleting the files

Click on the Windows Key on the keayboard and type Control. Click Control Panel = > Click Uninstall a Program located beneath Programs

Look for the Rosetta Stone Program and right click to Uninstall it.

Now you can reinstall the program once again as you are installing it for the first time and what ever the issues you have with Rosetta Stone program wi;; be resolves.

Click on the Finder => Mac HD = >  Library = > Application Support. You should see bunch of folders and now look for Rosetta Stone folder and Delete all of the folders with the name of Rosetta stone

Click on the Application folder and trash the Rosetta Stone icon to the Trash bin.

Let me explain you why you get this error 1141 while launching the program

There is something called RosettaStoneDaemon under the services of your computer which is not working properly.

Here ill let you know how to fix error 1141 in Rosetta Stone program.

When you get the error 1141 when you launch the program try closing and reopening the program or restarting the computer. Make sure your Date, Time and Time Zone is set properly on your computer.

If it's not resolved Please follow instructions below

If you are using Windows XP

Click the Start button and then click Run

Then type services.msc and then hit enter

You should see Services window open

Scroll down to the R's and look for RosettaStoneDaemon

If you don't see RosettaStoneDaemon then Click here

Then right click on RosettaStoneDaemon and click on Restart or Start if they are grayed click on Stop and start again.

Then open the Rosetta Stone program it should work fine.

If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8


Click the Start button

Error 2122, 2123 and 2125 are the most common error we get with all the Rosetta Stone Version 3 program.

This issue can be simply resolved and we have to be very careful while resolving it as we might lose all the progress what we have done till now.

Here i will give you the instructions step by step to resolve it.

1 ) Restart your computer 3 times continuously to resolve this issue. This might sound funny but trust me this will work sometimes.


If the above step won't work follow the below instructions. Here we have to rename the file call tracking.db3 to resolve the issue


If you are using Windows XP :

Note ** Do Not Delete that File

You have to rename that file to tracking1.db3 by right clicking on it and clicking on Rename

Now the final step is to Rename that tracking1.db3 back to tracking.db3 by just removing that  "1" form that name.
